IFEX 2024
IFEX, the international trade fair for foundry technology, equipment, accessories and services, celebrated its 20th anniversary this year. From February 2nd to 4th, the doors of the trade fair opened in Bangalore together with the 72nd Indian Foundry Congress. The Gargi HA team and a large number of international experts warmly welcomed the trade visitors.
The central topic at this year's IFEX was the impressive growth of the Indian foundry industry. With an annual production of around 12 million tons of castings, India ranks second in the world, just behind China. Fittingly, the motto of the 72nd Indian Foundry Congress was "Unleashing the opportunities".
Increasing demand in the automotive, mechanical engineering, energy and infrastructure sectors has led to many Indian foundries wanting to make their production processes even more efficient. The topic of sustainability is also becoming increasingly important in India. Interest in environmentally friendly materials, recycling options and the reduction of waste and emissions is growing. Therefore, in addition to further growth, a targeted improvement in quality standards in the Indian foundry industry is also on the agenda.
