2024: Renewed EcoVadis silver medal
HA took part in the EcoVadis assessment for the fourth time - and was once again able to significantly improve its score from 2022 and confirm the EcoVadis silver medal despite significantly stricter evaluation criteria.
2024: Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi)
The Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) is a collaboration between the Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP), the United Nations Global Compact, the World Resources Institute (WRI), the We Mean Business Coalition and the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF). Science-based targets show companies how far and fast they need to reduce their greenhouse gas emissions in order to prevent the worst effects of climate change.
In April 2024, the HA Group made a signed commitment to set science-based targets within the next 24 months, to have them validated by the initiative and to pursue them consistently.

2024: HA publishes "Sustainability Insights" progress report
We ensure greater transparency about our sustainable actions at HA through a comprehensive reporting system. With the publication of our first "Sustainability Insights" progress report, we offer our partners and customers an insight into the three central pillars of our sustainability management: governance, social and environmental issues.
2023: HA Group is a new member of the Together for Sustainability Initiative
Since October the 18th, the HA Group has been one of 50 members of the Together for Sustainability initiative (TfS) - the first company from the foundry industry to do so. The prerequisite for admission is a comprehensive audit of sustainability practices by TfS and independent auditors.
2023: Recalculation of the CO2 balance for the HA Group successfully completed
The first recalculation of the corporate carbon footprint for the 2022 business year was particularly successful in assessing the impact of the initial measures as well as in further improving the data quality.
A significant reduction of nearly 11% was determined in the area of Scope 1 & 2 emissions, amongst other things due to the dedicated implementation of initial measures. This marks the achievement of an initial milestone on our path towards our reduction target of 30% by 2030. Further measures, including a focus on Scope 3 emissions, are already planned or in progress.
2023: Seal of approval "Sicher mit System" by German BG RCI
After a comprehensive assessment of the occupational health and safety management system from May to August 2023, HA GmbH was able to obtain the "Sicher mit System" seal from the German Employers' Liability Insurance Association for the Raw Materials and Chemical Industry (BG RCI).
The assessment is an independent audit carried out on the basis of a quality-assured process and according to defined standards. To website of BG RCI (German)
2023: SAQ 5.0 Rating Report
The SAQ 5.0 sustainability assessment questionnaire is a further development with higher requirements compared to the SAQ 4.0 version.
Particularly pleasing: HA is significantly above the sustainability rating average for Germany.
2023: New Global Occupational Health and Safety Policy
Occupational health and safety is a priority corporate objective. HA's new Global Occupational Health and Safety Policy defines corresponding goals and principles for sustainable action in the business environment.
2023: HA Group joins UN Global Compact
By joining the world's largest CSR initiative, HA Group is committed to the 10 Principles of the UN Global Compact and the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), for sustainable development.
