Step by step to more sustainability

Sustainability is not a sprint, but a marathon and the first intensive stretch is behind us.

Here you will find an overview of the kilometers we have already covered.

2024: Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi)

The Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) is a collaboration between the Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP), the United Nations Global Compact, the World Resources Institute (WRI), the We Mean Business Coalition and the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF). Science-based targets show companies how far and fast they need to reduce their greenhouse gas emissions in order to prevent the worst effects of climate change.

In April 2024, the HA Group made a signed commitment to set science-based targets within the next 24 months, to have them validated by the initiative and to pursue them consistently.

2023: Recalculation of the CO2 balance for the HA Group successfully completed

The first recalculation of the corporate carbon footprint for the 2022 business year was particularly successful in assessing the impact of the initial measures as well as in further improving the data quality.

A significant reduction of nearly 11% was determined in the area of Scope 1 & 2 emissions, amongst other things due to the dedicated implementation of initial measures. This marks the achievement of an initial milestone on our path towards our reduction target of 30% by 2030. Further measures, including a focus on Scope 3 emissions, are already planned or in progress.
