IFEX 2023

From February 8th to 10th, this year's IFEX trade show welcomed numerous international exhibitors and foundry professionals to India again. The 71st Indian Foundry Congress IFC also took place in parallel. The event met with such great interest that the exhibition area was extended by the use of a third hall. Our team from Gargi HA was also present again and very pleased to welcome numerous visitors at booth A29 in hall 14.

With around 185 exhibitors and approximately 12,000 visitors from around the world, IFEX 2023 provided an excellent platform for Indian and foreign companies to showcase their cutting-edge technologies and services for this dynamic industry and to explore new business opportunities. While presenting new solutions and products from the foundry industry, there were also numerous lectures at the accompanying congress.

Dr. Carsten Kuhlgatz, President of the World Foundry Organization, gave the opening speech as one of the main guests. He was pleased with the successful start to the fair and sees the need for an additional hall as proof of the high status of the Indian foundry industry. For the WFO, which has already been represented by four presidents from India, IFEX and IFC are also among the most important events in the industry.

More attention for promotion of young talent

But the success of the current trade show was not the main topic of his speech. Dr. Kuhlgatz took the opportunity to give new attention to the topic of "promoting young talent" - a factor that plays a major role in the future of our industry. The WFO president recalled how important it is to actively approach and support young researchers in universities and in companies. In this regard, he recalled the WFO's Foundry Young Researchers and Early Career Professionals Conference, which will be held for the first time on April 18, 2023. It is all the more important, he said, that all those responsible in the member associations take advantage of this opportunity and draw attention to participation in the virtual conference.

"So what could be more natural than to organize a conference just for young researchers and young professionals from all over the world. These young researchers and professionals are our future, and we need to give them the opportunity to flourish."

Gargi HA presents successes

Besides numerous presentations, Gargi HA's booth became a popular meeting point for foundrymen from all over India and abroad to discuss various topics on new products and technologies. Our President Franz Friedrich Butz and other international colleagues were also at the booth to welcome the visitors and discuss the innovations to overcome the challenges faced by foundries. Fittingly, our colleagues from Gargi HA presented new products, successful case studies and innovations - especially in the areas of binders, coatings, feeders and 3D printing. Our HA Center of Competence in Germany also met with great interest in India.

Overall, the International Foundry & Equipment Exhibition 2023 was another successful show that drove personal exchange and future collaboration in our industry.
