HA Group Introduces New Green Sand Additives
With ECOSEC and PURFORMA, Hüttenes-Albertus is expanding its portfolio to include a new generation of green sand additives. These two products offer foundries different approaches to replacing traditional coal-based systems and further developing their green sand processes.
Following intensive development and testing under industrial conditions, HA is introducing new solutions for the green sand process. ECOSEC and PURFORMA address different requirements regarding molding material quality and emission reduction.
The coal-free ECOSEC combines mineral, bio-based, and recycled components. It offers advantages in terms of surface quality as well as potential for improving the properties of spent sand.
As a completely inorganic additive, PURFORMA takes a different approach: It is aimed specifically at foundries that want to significantly reduce emissions. Independent measurements show significant reductions in BTEX and TVOC compared to hard coal as well as compared to the best emission-reduced competitive product.
