Economics plus ecology: HA Group and Reinsicht
HA and Reinsicht: Two future-oriented companies combine their strengths
High time and cost pressure, increasingly complex castings, highly networked global markets and the greatest task of our time: sustainably protecting our environment and natural resources – these are the central challenges for the foundry industry around the world. Pragmatic solutions are required which are both economically feasible and make a significant contribution to reducing the industry’s ecological footprint. Against this backdrop, Hüttenes-Albertus from Düsseldorf and Reinsicht from Gerlingen have joined forces to draw up an environmentally responsible plan to achieve this goal.
In Germany’s foundry market, Reinsicht is renowned for the consistent and unconventional way it strives to make an important contribution to protecting our environment by developing environmentally-friendly industrial adhesives. In the concise words of Reinsicht’s Managing Director, Ivo Herzog: “Ecology and environmental protection is our duty, economic growth is in our best interest”.
Over the last few years, Reinsicht has developed innovative solutions for 3D sand printing and a range of other applications. A number of their solutions have already been successfully established in the market. In order to accelerate the development and deployment of low pollution, low emission, resource-saving binder systems and to promote them internationally, Reinsicht recognized that it needed to cooperate with a strong partner.
Reinsicht quickly found its ideal partner: Hüttenes-Albertus (HA) has been a leading global supplier of foundry chemical products and services for decades. As a successful family-owned company, HA has always been able to exercise freedom in product development and marketing, which has enabled it to break new ground and open up new markets.
In order to pool their strengths and resources, HA and Reinsicht have agreed to cooperate in the development, production and marketing of sustainable binder systems. Reinsicht will focus on research for low-emission and zero-emission technologies, while HA will be responsible for adapting these new technologies to product and process requirements, industrial-scale production and worldwide marketing.
Franz Friedrich Butz, Managing Director of HA, says: “By combining the strengths of our two companies, we are taking a significant step towards achieving our goal of supplying foundries with environmentally-friendly solutions for core, mould and 3D printing production, thus making an effective contribution to sustainability throughout the foundry industry”.
About Reinsicht
In order to make manufacturing processes more tolerable, Reinsicht GmbH has been developing and supplying environmentally-friendly industrial adhesives to the metal casting industry for 3D printing of sand core production and conventional, investment casting materials as well as water-soluble cores for plastic injection moulding for more than ten years. Strictly in accordance with the Reduce – Reuse – Recycle principle, the innovative binders and investment casting materials enable foundries to reduce emissions, lower binder consumption and achieve a purely mechanical 90% regeneration of the used sand. The result is a reduction in energy consumption and CO2 emissions over the entire process chain. Reinsicht’s products are already used in series production in a number of manufacturing sectors, including the automotive industry.
