Casting in daily life

What do you need for education, art and culture? Paper!

A few steps are necessary to turn coarse wood into fine paper. As a raw material, wood chips that have already been shredded are generally processed mechanically into fibers.

But what does this have to do with casting? The so-called refiner, i.e. the grinding disc segment, is used in the further processing of the wood chips. In a mechanical process, the different profiles of the grinding discs ensure precise defibration, which can vary in coarseness or fineness depending on the refiner. The grinding disc segment from the Hueber stainless steel foundry is cast in a shell mould from the Resital® prefabricated sand from Hüttenes-Albertus.

Facts

The advantages of Resital® precoated sands:

  • Maximum strength level
  • Finished moulding material with the highest flowability and pattern detail reproduction
  • Maximum strength of shell moulds and cores
  • For the production of castings with the highest dimensional accuracy
  • Excellent shelf life
