Casting in the daily life

Water and heat supply at home

Inconspicuous castings with a big impact - thermostatic valves, refilling combinations (for closed heating systems) and malleable cast iron fittings can be found on heating and water pipes in every building. High-precision cores are required so that the valves and connectors, some of which are very small but rich in detail, can be cast. The so-called shell moulding process (Croning process, named after the inventor Johannes Croning) has proven to be the most reliable and accurate sand casting process for almost 80 years, and Hüttenes-Albertus offers a wide range of suitable coating resins, precoated sands and precoated special sands

The IMI Heimeier brand thermostatic valve, the resideo Braukmann refilling combination and the malleable cast iron fitting from +GF+ Fittings are made with HA's Resital Coated Sand. These resin coated sands  are  based on silica  sand encased in a Corrodur solid resin layer and enables the production of cores that have very high dimensional accuracy and strength.

Facts

The advantages of Resital Coated Sands:

  • Maximum strength level
  • Finished moulding material with the highest flowability and pattern detail reproduction
  • maximum strength of shell moulds and cores
  • Excellent shelf life
