Less is more - Sustainability in the cold box process
Energy-efficient use of residual heat
In the course of the heat transition and rising energy prices, the switch to efficient heating systems in private homes is becoming increasingly popular. Industry is also focusing more and more on the effective and cost-saving use of residual heat. At the heart of these heating systems are highly complex castings.
Hüttenes-Albertus has been engaged in continuous improvement of product and environmental properties for years. Under the guiding principle "less is more," the development of the binder system focused on reducing the proportion of free monomers (phenol) and low gas evolution to avoid gas porosity. In addition, the system must allow a good shakeout behavior.
Facts
Advantages at a glance:
- Special system developed for aluminum casting
- Proportion of free monomers <1.0% thus better landfillability of the used sand
- High strength level and high reactivity, good disintegration properties
- Low gas evolution thus reduction of gas defects (gas porosity)
- Suitable for core making with regenerated sand
- Very good flowability of the sand mixture
