Metko HA’ya “Kurumsal Karbon Ayak İzi” Teşekkür Belgesi
Metko Hüttenes-Albertus Kimya San. Tic. A.Ş., Eskişehir Sanayi Odası Sürdürülebilir Yeşil Sanayi Birimi tarafından verilen “Karbon emisyonunu azaltmaya yönelik çalışmalar” yapan firmalara verilen “Kurumsal Karbon Ayak İzi Belgesi” alan ilk firma oldu.
Eskişehir Sanayi Odası Sürdürülebilir Yeşil Sanayi Birimi tarafından Metko Hüttenes-Albertus Eskişehir, Bilecik ve İstanbul lokasyonlarında yaptığı “Kurumsal Karbon Ayak İzi” hesaplamalarından sonra firmaya çevre konusundaki yaklaşımından dolayı ayrıca teşekkür belgesi verildi.
Kurumsal Karbon Ayak İzi Nedir?
Bir kuruluş, etkinlik, ürün veya kişinin sebep olduğu sera gazı emisyonlarının tümüne verilen isimdir. Karbon ayak izi insanların ve organizasyonların ulaşım, ısınma, enerji tüketimi veya satın aldığı veya ürettiği her türlü ürün neticesinde atmosfere yayılmasına neden olduğu sera gazalarının ‘eşdeğer karbondioksit’ cinsinden miktarlarını belirlemek üzere kullanılan bir çevresel etki ölçü birimidir.
Karbon Ayak İzi Nasıl Hesaplanır?
Karbon ayak izi; kişi, kurum ve kuruluşların her türlü faaliyeti sonucu sebep olduğu çevresel etkilerin sera gazı ölçümü ve karbondioksit eşdeğeri (CO2e) cinsinden ifade edilmesidir. Kyoto Protokolü tarafından belirlenen sera gazları tanımı ise karbondioksit (CO2), metan (CH4), diazot monoksit (N2O), hidroflorokarbonlar (HFC), perflorokarbonlar (PFC) ve kükürt hekzaflorür (SF6) gazlarını içermektedir ve miktarlarını belirtmek için ortak bir birim olan karbondioksit eşdeğeri (CO2e) kullanılmaktadır.
Eskişehir Sanayi Odası Sürdürülebilir Yeşil Sanayi Birimi tarafından ayrıca, Metko Hüttenes-Albertus’un 3 tesisindeki faaliyetlerinde; “İklim değişikliğine olan etkisinin hesaplanması, ISO 14064-1: 2006 Standardı ve GHG Sera Gazları Protokolü Hesaplama ve Raporlama Standartlarına uygun olarak raporlanması, karbon yönetim planı oluşumuna katkıda bulunulması, Metko Hüttenes-Albertus bünyesinde bulunan alt yüklenici firmaların iklim değişikliği, enerji verimliliği ve sürdürülebilirlik konularında bilinçlenmesi ve bilincin artırılması amacıyla hazırlanan rapor firmaya sunuldu.
"Corporate Carbon Footprint" Certificate of Appreciation to Metko HA
Metko Hüttenes-Albertus Kimya San. Tic. A.Ş. became the first company to receive the "Corporate Carbon Footprint Certificate" issued by the Eskişehir Chamber of Industry Sustainable Green Industry Unit, which is given to companies that carry out "studies to reduce carbon emissions".
After the "Corporate Carbon Footprint" calculations made by the Eskişehir Chamber of Industry Sustainable Green Industry Unit at Metko Hüttenes-Albertus Eskişehir, Bilecik and Istanbul locations, the company was also given a certificate of appreciation for its approach to the environment.
What is Corporate Carbon Footprint?
It is the name given to all greenhouse gas emissions caused by an organisation, activity, product or person. Carbon footprint is a unit of environmental impact measurement used to determine the amount of greenhouse gases in terms of 'equivalent carbon dioxide' that people and organisations cause to be emitted into the atmosphere as a result of transportation, heating, energy consumption or any product they purchase or produce.
How is Carbon Footprint Calculated?
Carbon footprint is the greenhouse gas measurement and expression of the environmental impacts caused by all kinds of activities of individuals, institutions and organisations in terms of carbon dioxide equivalent (CO2e). The definition of greenhouse gases determined by the Kyoto Protocol is carbon dioxide (CO2), methane (CH4), diazot monoxide (N2O), GHGs include hydrofluorocarbons (HFC), perfluorocarbons (PFC) and sulphur hexafluoride (SF6) gases and a common unit, carbon dioxide equivalent (CO2e), is used to indicate their quantities.
Eskişehir Chamber of Industry Sustainable Green Industry Unit also presented the report prepared for the activities of Metko Hüttenes-Albertus in 3 facilities; "Calculating the impact on climate change, reporting in accordance with ISO 14064-1: 2006 Standard and GHG Greenhouse Gases Protocol Calculation and Reporting Standards, contributing to the formation of carbon management plan, raising awareness and awareness of subcontractor companies within Metko Hüttenes-Albertus on climate change, energy efficiency and sustainability issues.
