The beginnings
The mid-1990s was, on the one hand, a long-awaited time of Poland’s opening up to the world, but also a time of great economic problems.
in the context of the transition from a centrally managed to a market economy. The foundry sector was particularly affected, despite its well-trained staff, which had to contend with problems of a material, technological and, above all, financial nature.
Under these conditions, it took a great deal of faith and even a vision to develop cooperation and become a reliable partner in the Polish foundry industry. Both were owned by Mr. Konrad Maier. He became the spiritus movens of the founding of another Huttenes-Albertus GmbH and took on the task of founding a company in Poland by receiving the active support of the owners.
The company Hüttenes-Albertus Polska Sp. z o. o. was officially founded on 4 October 1996. Lublin, which at that time was proud to be one of the largest foundries in Europe, was chosen as the company’s headquarters.
Faith and vision alone are not enough to succeed. Thanks to the enormous amount of work and the commitment of the management and the experienced engineering staff, subsequent successes became a reality.
The initial period of the company’s activity was a time to recognize the market, interact with customers and meet their needs. The work of the technical consultants led to hundreds of thousands of kilometres and countless hours that they spent.
Material testing, introduction of new technologies and solution of current problems in foundries. Managing Director Dorota Sokołowska, who later became Managing Director of the company, made a major contribution to the organisation and management of the company as well as to customer relations. “We are at your disposal 24 hours a day” – this working style is the motto of HA Polska to this day.
Particularly noteworthy is the commitment of all employees of the German parent company, especially the engineers. Their help and support contributed significantly to HA Polska’s current position in the foundry market.
Today for tomorrow
The company’s 1,800 employees are dedicated to providing our customers around the world with expert advice and support. Systematic expansion builds on existing business to strengthen the leading position of Hüttenes-Albertus in the global foundry markets.
Standing still means falling behind. At HA, we combine tradition with innovation. We learned from our founding fathers that innovation is the decisive driving force. Therefore, we constantly continue to refine and improve our products and solutions. With such strong and stable roots, we are able to look beyond the horizon as we strive to innovate, add value for our customers and protect the environment.
The company achieved two significant milestones in late 2017 with the inauguration of two innovation hubs, the HA Center of Competence (CoC) and a new laboratory in the Hanover region. Hüttenes-Albertus aspires to be the world’s most innovative foundry chemistry company and fully recognises the importance of innovation as one of the key factors for maintaining a competitive advantage.
